Data collection

Custom web scraping development services

Build a scraper around your fields, business samples and existing systems, with scoped source code and documentation. Agree public or authorized sources, frequency and acceptance before implementation. No credential login or platform control bypass.

In scope

What we collect

Structured collection from public pages and public interfaces, after checking site terms and robots rules
Reading and syncing data within the account owner's authorization
Synchronization between internal systems, databases and third-party sources
Scheduling, rate limits, deduplication, incremental updates and backfill
Cleaning and structured output: CSV, JSON, database or your own API
Field adaptation and maintenance when a source changes its layout
Out of scope

What we decline

  • Credential login, device emulation or CAPTCHA bypass
  • Circumventing platform controls, rate limits or bans
  • Personal data, private data or content the source prohibits
  • Bulk reviews, fake engagement or account trading
  • Fabricating ranking, indexing or citation data from collected results

If the boundary is unclear, describe the source, purpose, personal-data exposure and refresh needs. We say no when a project does not fit rather than promising everything. For interface-level work see API reverse engineering.

Deliverables

What you receive

Collection is one step: scope, fields, scheduling, failures and definitions all need documentation before handover.

01

Collection scope and field dictionary

02

Collector source code, scheduler and runtime configuration

03

Deduplication, incremental and resume logic

04

Cleaning rules and structured output

05

Source, timestamp and metric definitions

06

Deployment notes and maintenance boundaries

Acceptance

How acceptance works

The hard part of a collection project is what is missing. These three checks go into the acceptance sheet so field gaps surface before launch.

See the delivery process for stages and failure testing, and engineering notes for data model and scheduling design.

Sample comparison

Check fixed pages and fields against the output. Missing, wrong or empty values need a stated reason, not a silent zero.

Interruption recovery

After rate limits, timeouts, restarts or layout changes, confirm whether the job resumes or backfills, and how gaps are recorded.

Consistent definitions

Field definitions, time windows, deduplication and refresh cadence go into the acceptance sheet so reports and BI use one standard.

FAQ

Scraping and data collection FAQ

How is scraping different from API integration?

Official APIs come first: stable fields, documentation and a permission path. Page- or protocol-level collection is assessed only when no usable interface exists, and its maintenance cost is part of the proposal.

Is collecting this data lawful?

It depends on the data, the site terms, robots rules and the authorization you hold. We ask for the source and purpose in writing and decline personal data, prohibited sources or work that needs control bypass. This is a project boundary, not legal advice.

What happens when a source changes its layout?

The collector separates source, field mapping and output, so a change is located at the field level first. A full restructure or a new login requirement is a major change and is estimated separately.

How do you set frequency and volume?

From business need and what the source can bear, with rate limits, backoff and off-peak scheduling. We do not promise fixed throughput or use proxy pools to get around source limits.

Can it feed our database or BI tools?

Yes. Output as CSV or JSON, write to your database, or expose a query interface. Data and credentials stay in your environment and are managed by your team.

Start with the source and purpose

Tell us the source, fields, refresh cadence and existing systems. You get a scope, boundary and price range.
